If you need it drafted, I can do it.  Whether it is a petition, decree, motion, I will get it done for you.  My drafting is not boiler-plate or papermill.  Rather, I customize and can create language to cater to the specific client and case needs.  If you need it drafted, I'll get it done for you even there isn't a "form" for it.

Discovery

I absolutely love discovery!  Let me do the requests and responses.  I even include objections!  If needed, I can work with the client directly.  I organize and Bates-label production items, including converting into PDF format, removing security, separating and combining pages as needed, and renaming files for a polished production.  If it's all in a big pile and you need it sorted out, I'll handle it.

Indexing & Deficiency Analysis

Call me weird, but I truly do enjoy indexing.  I will create for you a handy Excel index of discovery or whatever is needed.  Generally, when I index, I also organize the items as well so that everything tracks exactly with the index.  This makes getting ready for a compel, hearing, or trial much less tedious for you.  I can even analyze for deficiency, prepare a letter, prepare a motion - whatever is needed.

Spreadsheets

If you need it on a spreadsheet, I've got you covered.  Whatever it is, I can figure out a way to put it on a spreadsheet.  If calculations or formulas are needed, even better.

File Management

Organization is my forte - you might say I'm crazy about it.  If you are struggling with file organization, or would just like someone to clean up a file for you and make a foundation for organization going forward, bring it to me.   

Did you just receive a file from former counsel that is complete disaster?  I'll fix it.  

Did you just receive a pile of unorganized items from the client?  I'll fix it.

Client Management

Do you have clients who are needing extra attention or "hand-holding?"  Perhaps they need help with understanding the basic process of divorce, or about discovery.  If you would like a paralegal to be available to them so you can focus on other things, I am happy to step up to help.

I've been a Texas family law paralegal for more than two decades.  I am a Member of the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division and my number is 24130702.   I have worked in both large and small law firms, and with many attorneys, many personalities and preferences, on cases big and small.  Additionally, I have experience working with civil matters, including employment.  I am always happy to assist with whatever project comes my way!

I farm out nothing.  I do not and will not use Generative AI, ChatGPT, or Artificial Intelligence of any kind.  All work is done 100% by me and my own brain.  You can count on consistency from one project to another, time after time.  Quality and efficiency are my priorities.  

My background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Texas in the double major fields of Psychology and Biology, and a Master's in Education with lifetime certification to teach both fields in grades through senior high school.  I taught high school for a number of years in various subjects including Psychology, Biology, Algebra, and Business Computing.  It was rewarding to help educate our younger generation and help them earn credit toward college.  While I enjoyed my time as an educator, I made the switch to use my skills in the legal environment, and the rewards have been truly amazing.  I grew up out in West Texas, a town called Abilene, where people are friendly, genuine, and value integrity, promptness, cordiality, kindness, and the opportunity to make positive differences.  My family is made up of hardworkers, dedicated to faith and family.  A strong work ethic is not only my background but also literally in my blood.  

It is my great pleasure to serve our Texas community by supporting individuals who are undergoing possibly the most traumatic event of their lives - divorce, child custody issues, property battles, civil issues.  I understand that for your clients, the legal process is new and daunting, and only further tests the limits of their already stressed emotions.  As a paralegal, I can assist in standing up for your clients, supporting you as their attorney, and hopefully make the process just a tiny bit easier for everyone.  It takes us all working together.  

Our way of doing business and serving our clients just isn't the same as it used to be.  Times have changed. More and more people are working from home or downsizing to keep up with changes in the economy.  But business has to go on.  I'm here to help.  I love what I do.

My genuine respect to all attorneys who are starting up their own practice, or running a home office, or otherwise going out on their own.  It is my pleasure to support this.  My hope is to provide not only quality and timely paralegal product but also to be a friendly and positive source of general support and kindness - all just as if I was sitting in your office.
